On April 17, 2015, Anisha I. Patel , MD, MSPH was awarded an intramural Young Investigator Award from the UCSF Department of Pediatrics. The $20,000 award will be used to supplement Dr. Patel’s research program in community-based interventions to address pediatric obesity and consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages.
Dr. Patel received her MD and Masters in Science and Public Health, Maternal and Child Health at the University of North Carolina. She completed her residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at Stanford University. She was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Fellow at UCLA, as well as a joint General Pediatrics and Philip R. Lee Fellow at the Institute for Health Policy Studies (IHPS). She is the recipient of a K23 career development award from the National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD). She attends at the Mt. Zion outpatient clinic. She is an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics.
